Rehabilitation in the Home

Allied health care for patients while they recover at home

When you are recovering at home after a hospital stay, chances are you will need some extra support. HealthStrong provides quality allied healthcare to help you get back on your feet.

What is rehabilitation in the home?

After surgery, or a lengthy stay in hospital, rehabilitation is often required. Rehabilitation in the home programs allow you to receive care in your own home, where it’s clinically appropriate and safe to do so. This may include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and nursing. In some cases, domiciliary support, such as personal care, domestic care or meals may also be provided as part of your care.

HealthStrong is proud to provide physiotherapy and occupational therapy services as part of rehabilitation in the home programs.

What are the benefits of rehabilitation in the home?

Rehabilitation in the home allows you to receive rehabilitation treatment, where clinically appropriate, while in the privacy and comfort of your own home. This means you can have your family, friends and pets around you, and enjoy all the little things that make life more comfortable such as sleeping in your own bed and watching your own TV.

Recovery at home is also more convenient with our program, as we can schedule appointments around your other commitments. It also eliminates the need to travel to any follow-up appointments and spending time sitting in waiting rooms.

How is it funded?

Rehabilitation in the home is usually funded under private health insurance. Please contact your health fund to find out if you are eligible for this service.
